The Carbon Footprint of Transportation in Vermont: Obstacles and Opportunities: Thursday, April 17, 12:30-1:30 pm; 104 Aiken, University of Vermont, Burlington

Dr. Richard Watts of the UVM Transportation Center will speak on the high contribution of Vermont’s transportation sector to greenhouse gas production. Transportation represents 44% of emissions in Vermont, compared with a national average of 26%. Is the health of Vermont’s economy predicated in part on increasing Vehicle Miles Traveled (VMT)? Attend this lecture to find out what can be done about this problem.
