The use of media like this radio is very good for changing behaviors in a profitable way for the community as it channels understanding meaning. Not everybody can read or write. I believe that some ethnies are learning much moreand tranforming their representation of the world than with TV, books, internet which is are mainly westernized media supports (They main find their limits in some countries like Papua Guinea. I don't know. my own experience in the south pacific showed me that leraners were very good at leraning with ears than eyes. but of course we all learn with eyes, ears, fingers, skins, etc.

Transforming expectationg into real people needs implies being active listeners, differentiating between those visible needs and the unvisible that cannot be expressed easily.
Good communication would give meaning and resurfacing ancient knwoledge and traditons of native aborigenes cultures while adaptating to modernity. I suppose Papua-New Guinea is still the land of Plentiful and beautiies to be aslo, protected. We also, I am sure like to discover their new horizons from the other world, not only in books and libraries but in real laboratories....
UN is making good jobs with these new centres, if I see past works like the free radio for peace against weapons...It is helping to make a safer and more stabalized world.
