Integrating the Sabido Methodology and Transmedia Storytelling

PMC also has developed a unique strategy which weaves together two very powerful strategies: The Sabido methodology for entertainment-education and “transmedia storytelling” – the spreading of a narrative and character lives across multiple platforms. This approach has the benefit of allowing audience members to encounter parts of the story in various locations and on various media platforms, which draws them further into the fictional world, increases and diversifies audience interaction with the characters, allows audience members to participate and see things from varying perspectives, and therefore allows them to learn in different ways. The applications that are used in transmedia storytelling can include both old and new media, such as comic books, electronic comic books, electronic games, internet videos, websites and blogs for individual characters, mini-episodes, messages from characters delivered via mobile phones, and an array of other applications that are specifically designed to meet the interests of the target audience.
