Mexico’s current population is approximately 108 million people. The fertility rate has declined steadily from 3.5 lifetime births per woman in 1990 to 2.3 in 2008. Still, only 59% of women use any modern method of contraception, and sexually transmitted infections rank among the top ten causes of morbidity in the country. Mexico’s population is projected to grow to 125 million by the year 2025.
