Updates on United Nations Activities and Partnerships in Papua New Guinea?

AusAID has become the first donor in PNG to sign a Standard Administrative Agreement with the United Nations agreeing to initially channel 29 per cent of their resources through the One UN Fund.

The agreement was signed on the 1st of June signifying the ongoing financial mechanisms reform taking place at the country level to provide efficient financial support to the Delivery as One process.

The UN Country Fund operates through the joint UN Budgetary Framework and is allocated on the basis of ‘performance based allocation criteria’. It is expected that the Country Fund will ultimately manage 52 per cent of the UNs non-core financial resources .
