Hosted by The World We Want 2015, the following online discussion aims to stimulate dialogue, facilitate an exchange of ideas and collect and document the views, experiences and perspectives of key stakeholders vis-à-vis population dynamics. It is “an opportunity to contribute to the setting of shared global priorities in the context of ameliorating poverty and inequality, whilst championing universal rights and values.”
The key output of the consultation process will be a synthesis report that summarizes the discussions and sets out a series of recommendations agreed upon at a final high-level meeting on how population dynamics should be positioned in the post 2015 development agenda. This will include the key principles that should guide what the post-2015 population dynamics agenda should look like, as well as a well-balanced synthesis of the different proposals generated during the process. This report… shall be submitted to the UN High Level Panel and the UN Secretary-General on the post-2015 development agenda. This report will also feed into the overall synthesis that includes all thematic areas, as well as the country consultations.
