Survey: Young Republicans Support Birth Control

Though President Barack Obama’s health care law has been a politically controversial, a new survey shows that its provision for birth control coverage may be something both parties can agree on – at least if they are young.

The survey found that more young Republicans support the Affordable Care Act’s contraceptive coverage requirement than oppose it. The health care law requires insurance companies to pay for certain contraceptive services – including birth control pills, rings, implants and intrauterine devices – without a copay for patients.

Nearly half of young Republicans think health insurance should fully cover all FDA-approved methods of birth control.
