In seven short minutes, at the 2014 UN Climate Summit, Kathy Jetñil-Kijiner shared every mother’s deepest fears and anguish. Voyaging through this poem, we see the lagoons and waters around the Marshall Islands rising and raging. She cogently, quietly, and passionately calls upon world leaders, artists, and activists. As we all know, the casualties of climate change are already too high.
