The World Food Programme is the food assistance branch of the United Nations and the world's largest humanitarian organization addressing hunger and promoting food security. The World Food Programme defines food security as access of all people at all times to the food needed to an active and healthy lifestyle. The ultimate objective of food aid is to eliminate the need for food aid.
