PMC Welcomes Carolyn Gilbert as Senior Program & Partnership Development Associate

May 13, 2021

Population Media Center (PMC), an international nonprofit implementing entertainment education to improve the rights of women and girls and environmental sustainability, is pleased to announce the addition of Carolyn Gilbert in the role of Senior Program & Partnership Development Associate. Gilbert’s addition to the Program & Partnership Development team will be influential as PMC expands its partnership portfolio and renews current projects worldwide.

Gilbert holds a B.A. in International Studies from Macalester College and an MSc in International Development and Humanitarian Emergencies from the London School of Economics. Before joining PMC, Gilbert worked on the business development team at Dexis Consulting Group in Washington, DC, a major USAID and Department of State implementer. She also brings experience from her work on grassroots development projects in Ethiopia, Tanzania, and Brazil.

“I’m excited to join PMC because of its approach to behavior change. It’s rare to find an organization doing work that is simultaneously creative, empirically sound, and tackling such complex, important issues,” says Gilbert.

“As we continue to explore new program and partnership opportunities for PMC, including opening new country programs, Carolyn’s addition to the team is a real boon,” says Stephanie Tholand, Director of Program & Partnership Development. “The experience she brings to PMC will help ensure that our new business development approaches are effective and fruitful. She has a tremendous drive to learn fast and deliver quality and is already bringing added value and perspective to our work.”

Outside of work, Gilbert can be found hiking with her dog, telemark skiing, and searching for Vermont’s best maple creemee.
