Lisa Caruso, MFA, MBA

Head of U.S. Content

Lisa joined PMC in 2018 to help found the U.S. Content Studio. She was tasked to strategically grow PMC as a dynamic and viable commercial content creator in the U.S. and global media marketplaces, following the success of PMC’s hit original series, East Los High.

Lisa leads all development and production efforts for television, film, and podcast English-language content. She has oversight on all creative and business aspects for a slate of diverse projects, and established a west coast office where she oversees a team of development, production, and impact staff.

She brings over 25 years of leadership experience in the entertainment industry from roles in development, production, and as network executive, as well as having created and overseen several hit series. Lisa has also been a writer and director and is a proud member of the Producer’s Guild of America.

Her Favorite Part of Working at PMC

Lisa appreciates that PMC matches her values regarding the importance of elevating the rights of women and girls, as well as addressing global sustainability. She is grateful to work someplace where her passion for creating impactful entertainment content around these issues is valued.

Volunteering & Memberships
  • Advisory Board, MIT Center for Advanced Virtuality (2019 to present)
  • Volunteer, Trekking for Kids (Nepal and Italy)
  • Volunteer, Schoolbox Project (Greece)
  • Volunteer, Habitat for Humanity (Egypt)
  • Member, Alliance of Women Directors
  • Member, Producers Guild of America

Lisa’s #1 favorite activity is global travel. She’s been to approximately 50 countries (and most of the U.S. states) but has many more to go. As much as she enjoys visiting new cities and UNESCO world heritage sites and getting acclimated in new cultures and trying new foods, Lisa also enjoys simply being in nature and sometimes hiking to high altitudes (Everest Basecamp, Dolomites) or doing other adventurous activities like hang gliding and airplane flying (she’s not yet licensed but has done stunts over the Pacific ocean in an open cockpit biplane). She also enjoys spending downtime with her rescue cat and dog, and she is grateful that her pup arrived from the streets of Cartagena, Colombia just days before the Covid-19 shutdown in 2020.

Lisa finds it hard to name just one inspiration, but The Kite Runner anything by Dorothy Parker, Meditations by Marcus Aurelius, Man’s Search for Meaning by Viktor E. Frankl and Bird by Bird by Anne Lamott are a few standouts. The Graduate, Adams Rib, When Harry Met Sally and The Sopranos are at the top of Lisa’s very long film/TV list.

Lisa’s hope is that the content we create will inspire current and future generations to reach a better understanding of all peoples’ shared experiences and activate them for change to make our world a better place.
