AIDS Society Workshops

Philippines

In 2003 and 2005, PMC conducted training workshops in the Sabido methodology for members of the AIDS Society of the Philippines and additional scriptwriters they brought together.

PMC’s two workshops for the AIDS Society of the Philippines focused on PMC’s methodology , focusing specifically how it  could be used to address HIV/AIDS in the country. The first workshop was held on November 18, 2003 in Manila and was called Entertainment-Education Training Workshop (the Sabido Methodology). The second workshop was held on April 1, 2005 in Manila and was called called A Behavior Change Communication Project in the Philippines to Promote Reproductive Health and Avoidance of HIV/AIDS.

PMC also conducted an inter-regional workshop in the Philippines in 2003 . All of these workshops informed participants about PMC’s methodology to help enable participants to understand how to create serial dramas and use entertainment-education for behavior change .

PMC provides workshops for people interested in learning about entertainment-education, particularly long-running dramas, to create entertaining media programs that impact health and human rights issues.

Making a Difference

After the two workshops PMC and the Philippines Aid Society hosted, participants were more aware of entertainment-education, specifically the Sabido Methodology, and how it could benefit their work and create change in the population in relation to HIV/AIDS.
