the fight for Reproductive health and rights is a battle over narrative

Sexual and reproductive health and rights are facing a global narrative crisis. At a moment when misinformation is reshaping what people around the world believe about their bodies, choices, and rights, PMC exists to ensure that evidence-based, rights-affirming narratives don’t just exist — they resonate and expand.

PMC sits at the intersection of research, entertainment, and sexual and reproductive health and rights expertise — translating evidence into stories that reach massive audiences, and connecting those audiences to trusted resources and movements.

What We Do

We bridge evidence and entertainment. PMC brings research, sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) organizations and storytellers together to embed sexual and reproductive health and rights narratives into the content people are already watching, listening to, and sharing — across TV, film, radio, and digital media worldwide.

Why it Matters

Right now, misinformation about women’s health and rights is spreading faster than the truth — and it’s not accidental. Coordinated movements are investing in narratives that roll back reproductive autonomy while packaging the loss of rights as empowerment. As just one example, MAHA-aligned influencers spread debunked claims about birth control, fueling declining contraceptive use at the very moment access is being stripped away.

The narratives shaping what communities believe are being written — with or without us. When stories get it wrong or intentionally misinform, real rights are at stake. When they get it right, attitudes shift, norms change, and women and girls gain ground.

How We Work

We start with the evidence — mapping the SRHR narrative landscape around a show’s target audience to understand what stories are being told, where misinformation takes hold, and what’s missing. Then we bring that insight into writers’ rooms, production studios, and creative partnerships, working alongside entertainment creators to craft stories that are grounded in research, culturally resonant, and built to reach millions.

At the same time, we partner with SRHR organizations to ensure storylines are informed by frontline expertise — and that audiences moved by what they see can find accurate information and trusted resources when they need them most.
