POPULATION MEDIA CENTER RELEASES Newsletter
As we close out the year at Population Media Center, we reflect on a season shaped by both continuity and forward momentum. Building on decades of powerful storytelling and global impact, this year marked an important new chapter under the leadership of our President and CEO, Margot Fahnestock—strengthening partnerships, elevating evidence-driven narratives, and keeping our mission firmly at the center of our work.
Across the globe, our stories continued to meet communities where they are. In Nepal, the rebroadcast of Mai Sari Sunakhari sparked renewed dialogue through listening clubs, shadow plays, and a powerful clay art initiative that invited audiences to physically shape the impact of the stories they heard. In Mexico and the United States, Papás Por Conveniencia reached millions of viewers, proving once again that entertainment can be both commercially successful and a catalyst for change—driving families to talk openly about sexual and reproductive health and seek trusted resources.
This year also brought moments of global connection and leadership. At the International Conference on Family Planning, PMC joined partners and practitioners from around the world to share evidence, deepen collaborations, and reaffirm storytelling as a critical tool for advancing equity. Through thought leadership, including our President and CEO’s op-ed in Ms. Magazine, we continued to challenge misinformation and advocate for accurate, accessible reproductive health information at a pivotal time.
As you explore these highlights and meet the people behind them, we hope you see how your support makes this work possible—and how, together, we are shaping a future rooted in informed choice, equity, and lasting impact.
