Sexual and Reproductive health and rights
Universally recognized sexual and reproductive health and rights are essential to a sustainable future. These rights include an individual’s right to plan a family, use contraceptives, learn about sex education in public schools, and gain access to reproductive health services. Unfortunately, hundreds of millions of people around the world still face significant obstacles to their sexual and reproductive health and rights. These barriers, often caused by misconceptions and harmful social norms, hold women and girls (and boys and men) back from reaching their full potential.
Population Media Center works to improve and strengthen sexual and reproductive health and rights as a core component of our mission driven programming. Acting together—with integrity, transparency, and the highest ethical standards—PMC and our partners deliver measurable, meaningful community empowerment through the power of popular entertainment on issues like sexual violence, rights to contraceptives, female genital mutilation, early and forced marriage, and maternal health.
We’re writing the stories for our future, a world where everyone can access the highest standards of health care and sexual health education resources – and we’ve already affected the lives of over 500 million people.
