PMC Shares and Learns at International Entertainment-Education Summit

May 01, 2018

Entertainment-education is a dynamic field with diverse application. From April 16-20, 2018 the International Social and Behavior Change Communication Summit (SBCC Summit) focused on the power of entertainment-education, and Population Media Center (PMC) was a sponsoring organization for the conference. The cross-section of 1,200 professionals who travelled to Indonesia from 90 different countries delivered an exciting look into what’s working in the use of SBCC and entertainment to improve lives.

PMC evaluates all of our entertaining shows to understand our impact. We were excited to showcase some of our recent experiences and share our learnings with others. Our team gave six presentations, two poster presentations, one skills-building workshop – and hosted a PMC booth throughout the week.

“I found the summit valuable in so many ways,” says Scott Connolly, PMC’s Director of Research, “including the opportunity to connect with others doing similar work and form possible partnerships for future programs.”

The committee currently working on the Summit Declaration agrees, saying “This Summit has confirmed the vitality, dynamism, evolution and maturity of our field of practice. We return home more united, more committed to people-centered development than ever.”
