Double Your Impact
In honor of our 25-year anniversary of transformative storytelling, the Cinco Foundation will magnify the impact of your generosity by matching any amount you contribute exceeding last year’s donation.
DonateAs part of Population Media Center’s (PMC) commitment to ensure diverse and authentic stories are brought to the forefront, we are pleased to support Danielle Autumn Stratton as a participant of the Writers Lab developed by New York Women in Film & Television.
“We are delighted to award a scholarship to Danielle Autumn Stratton for her original TV pilot, ‘The Rez,’ which deftly and bravely addresses the serious issue of missing indigenous women, and which aligns with our organization’s mission to tell stories supporting female empowerment and equality,” shared Lisa Caruso, Head of U.S. Content for PMC.
While attending the four-day writers’ workshop, which focuses exclusively on female writers over 40, Stratton and other awardees will work intensively on their scripts with mentors during one-on-one meetings, panel discussions, and peer workshops.
The Writers Lab was co-founded by Elizabeth Kaiden and Nitza Wilon and New York Women in Film & Television and is supported by Meryl Streep, Nicole Kidman, Oprah Winfrey, and the Cornelia T. Bailey Foundation. This year’s submissions to the scholarship contest were up by 30%, proving that even in times of global crisis, women are still writing – and eager to share transformative stories.
Other funding partners include the Writers Guild of America, East, The Black List, Falco Ink, Film Fatales, Filmarket Hub, Final Draft, Roadmap Writers, and Untamed Stories.
