Maisha Pakacha
Maisha Pakacha (“Life is a Carrier Bag”), produced as part of the UNFPA/UNICEF Joint Programme on the Elimination of Female Genital Mutilation, aired twice weekly in Kiswahili on two radio stations serving different regions across Kenya. PMC selected Kiswahili as the language most likely to reach the widest audience across the broadcast areas. The show engaged listeners beyond radio through interactive storylines on WhatsApp, Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook. Addressing critical issues such as female genital mutilation, family planning, adolescent reproductive health, child marriage, and gender-based violence, Maisha Pakacha was developed using PMC’s proven social change methodology to educate and empower communities.
