Population Media Center Selects Associate Vice President of Development, Kiren Bansal
Population Media Center (PMC), an international nonprofit leader in entertainment-education dedicated to women’s rights and the environment, has selected Kiren Bansal to serve in the newly-created role of Associate Vice President of Development. This role is charged with shaping the strategy for contributed income as PMC strives to triple global operations by 2025. Bansal joined the team on November 14th.
“We are very pleased to have Kiren joining the PMC family and taking leadership of our development operations and team,” says Bill Ryerson, President and Founder of PMC. “She brings vast experience from a variety of domestic and international non governmental organizations. Her leadership will be crucial in order to reach the goals set forth in PMC’s Vision 2025.”
Bansal comes to PMC with 15 years of nonprofit management experience and a track record of success in reaching goals at organizations like United Way and New West Symphony. Bansal earned her BA in Environmental Studies from University of Southern California and MA in Global Affairs from George Mason University.
“PMC is gearing up for an important milestone in its evolution,” says Bansal. “I’m excited to join PMC at this critical time of growth and look forward to getting to know current supporters and partners who have powered this important work for nearly two decades.”
Bansal will be working with PMC’s leadership and development team to assess and enhance current fundraising efforts, recognizing that an organization undergoing a large expansion must scale up its revenue generation as well.
“There are over 1.5 million nonprofits competing for funding in the United States alone and growing day by day,” says Bansal. “As PMC moves ahead we must diversify income and become even more strategic and targeted in order to increase contributed income. I’m thrilled to work together with the extremely knowledgeable staff team and board at PMC as we plan towards Vision 2025!”
Outside of work, Bansal can be found attending concerts and musicals, volunteering on the boards of her alumni networks, podcasting, or taking ukulele lessons.
