Welcoming Donor Engagement Officer Bria Holness to PMC
Population Media Center (PMC), an international nonprofit implementing entertainment-education to improve the rights of women and girls and environmental protections, is pleased to announce the addition of Bria Holness in the new role of Donor Engagement Officer. Holness’ addition to the Development team will be significant as PMC seeks to foster a vibrant community of donors connected with one another and more strategically engaged with PMC’s work year-round.
Holness earned her B.S. in Television, Radio, and Film and MA in Media and Education from Syracuse University. With three years of experience in media development, Holness’ most recent position was Development Manager at Epic Theater Ensemble, supporting diverse communities creating theater productions to promote vital discourse and social transformation. Her interests and past work experience were grounded in community-based programs that allow historically marginalized groups to voice their ideas, questions, choices, and solutions towards social issues that affect their lives and communities at-large.
“I have always believed in the power of stories and their ability to raise awareness, foster empathy, educate, and create change,” says Holness.
Kiren Bansal, Associate Vice President of Development, echoes this, stating “Bria’s background in story-telling – as a tool to inspire positive community change – will be a valuable asset as we increase outreach efforts to more and more new supporters around the world.”
As a Donor Engagement Officer, Holness will be uniting supporters of PMC’s efforts to address global challenges. “As the public becomes more aware of PMC’s focus areas, I am excited to meet and learn about them so we can further collaborate and pool resources for greater impact. PMC’s supporters are partners in this complex work and I look forward to my role in deepening their engagement.”
Outside of work, Holness can frequently be found traveling to new places, spending time with family and friends, working out, enjoying a good glass of wine, and giving praise to God.
