Erik Mandell
As Director of New Business Development for PMC’s International Programs, Erik provides strategic oversight and support to PMC’s current country programs’ fundraising and partnership development efforts. He collaborates with PMC’s Program Managers and Country Teams on business development processes. He guides current country-level research on and assessment of potential partnerships, coalitions, and funding opportunities for growing PMC’s programming and impact within the existing country portfolio.
Prior to PMC, Erik worked for six years for Mercy Corps, focusing on program management and business development across the Asia and Americas regions, building and maintaining relationships with a wide variety of donors and partner organizations. He also worked as a Program Coordinator at Portland State University, focusing on USAID and State Department-funded partnerships with Vietnam and the Middle East.

Erik enjoys the creative and strategic collaboration with a great, passionate, and diverse team across PMC’s HQ and Country offices. He is continually learning more about the powerful relationship between social behavior change and important outcomes for human and environmental well-being.

OUT OF THE OFFICE
Erik lives in Portland, Oregon, with his wife Jessica, their three dogs, and two cats. Outside of PMC, Erik volunteers to support his wife’s dog training and boarding business and spends a lot of time with canine and human friends! He enjoys taking advantage of the outdoor access of the Pacific Northwest, especially hiking, skiing, and kayaking. Erik is an avid traveler who has visited over 70 countries worldwide on professional and personal trips and all 50 US states. He’s looking forward to revisiting and exploring new countries with his work with PMC!

Erik’s favorite books include Into the Wild by Jon Krakauer, Bonfire of the Vanities by Tom Wolfe, and all sorts of travel and historical narratives. His favorite TV shows are The Simpsons, The Sopranos, and The Wire.
