Wame Jallow
Wame joined PMC with over 20 years of work in global health-related programming in the areas of HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis, Hepatitis C, non-communicable diseases, sexual and reproductive health, OVC, maternal and child health, and nutrition. As Vice President of International Programs at Population Media Center, Wame leads a team of program managers and our global staff as they implement, design, and create.
Based in Botswana, Wame’s passion for public health sparked during the rollout of the antiretroviral therapy for HIV/AIDs. At that time, she worked with children who were orphaned or abandoned by families due to AIDS-related deaths, stigma, or lack of sustenance. Since then, she’s spent her career listening, learning, and creating solutions with communities while moving public health and social movements forward along the way.
Her Favorite Part of Working at PMC
